CDs and DVDs, have been around for years, with CD being the first to arrive on our High Streets way back in the early 80s. At the time CDs were incredible versatile, fast and convenient compared to old audio compact cassette tapes that were its predecessor.
CDs could store anything up to 700MBs worth of music, which at the time was a considerable amount of storage.
DVD arrived in the 90s, offering over 4GBs of storage for music, films, photos etc.
However, both formats have more or less come to the end of their days. DVDs still has its uses, especially for computer games. But these days USB flash-drives are far more versatile, and can hold considerable more data (anything up to 2TB!)
Here's what we can do with your old discs:-
